The first question asked many times is, "Why do I need to become a Christian?"
Look at the graphic on the right side of this page.
When sin entered our world it caused a separation between man and God. Choosing to do the things that are against God's guidelines is called SIN, and it is sin that separates us from Him.
There is only one way to bridge that sin gap. It is with Jesus Christ. Jesus died on the Cross, and it is because of that sacrifice that we can reunite with God.
Being a "Christian" means that you belong to Jesus Christ and follow His ways.
So how do I become a Christian?
First of all the Bible holds the answer to your question. We encourage you to read the book of Acts, which tells how others have made their choice.
Additionally, we want to share with you some other scripture that will instruct you as you consider your decision. Most Christians call this "God's Plan of Salvation."

You probably have a lot of other questions about all of this. No web site could ever provide all of the necessary information and study to help you with this decision. It is the MOST important decision you will ever make in your life- even more important than who you will marry, where you will attend college, or what of profession you will work. Those things will all fade away when you die. But your soul will live forever. We at First Christian Church want it to live forever in heaven with God and His Son Jesus Christ. Please contact us by email or phone (618-662-7626: ask for Bill, Rob, or Ben) if we can help you make a decision.
